Delaware County Step Ahead Council committees have a range
of responsibilities and duties. Committee descriptions are listed below.
 | C.R.I.B Committee
 | Aims to bridge the gap between families of newborns and
community resources. It serves as oversight for programs,
projects, and activities that link families to the wide array of
available community resources. Responsible for a portion of
discretionary funds. |

 | Educare Committee
 | responsible for consumer education, training for child
care providers, monitoring Child Care Resource and Referral
activities, and to increase the supply of available child care options.
Responsible for oversight of a portion of discretionary funds. |

 | Family Support Committee
 | responsible for oversight of the Safe and Stable Families
Funding. Works on issues such as employment training, housing,
ongoing learning opportunities, service coordination, and
information and referral services. Responsible for oversight of a
portion of discretionary funds. |

 | Health/Nutrition Committee
 | assists with coordination of other health related planning
organizations including Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies, SAFE Kids
Chapter, Delaware County Coordinating Council for Substance Abuse
Prevention, and First Steps Intervention Coordinating Council.
Works to provide health education, coordinate health programs, and
promote healthy lifestyles for children and families. Responsible
for oversight of a portion of discretionary funds. |

 | Mental Health Committee
 | meets in conjunction with the Child Abuse Prevention Council
Program Committee. Responsibilities include assessing mental
health service needs, promoting programs that prevent child abuse
and neglect, support services for victims of domestic violence,
and coordinating available programs. |

 | Executive Committee
 | composed of the Council officers, committee chairs and Fiscal Agent. Responsible for employment of the
coordinator who serves under their direction. Conducts the
business of the Council under the general direction of the
membership. Serves as review team for all requests for funding
through the Council including the Fiscal
Agent selection, discretionary funding and other requests that may
come before the Council. Executive
Committee meetings are open to the general membership. |
